Biographie
Guily Joffrin (1909–2007) est une artiste peintre française, principalement reconnue pour son œuvre figurative délicate et poétique, qui s’inscrit dans la mouvance de l’École de Paris.
Née en 1909, Guily Joffrin se forme à la peinture dans un contexte artistique riche, marqué par les avant-gardes de l'entre-deux-guerres. Elle s’installe à Paris, où elle fréquente les milieux intellectuels et culturels. Rapidement, elle trouve sa voie dans une figuration sensible, souvent empreinte de lyrisme et de silence. Ses œuvres, tantôt intimistes, tantôt ouvertes sur des paysages rêvés, révèlent une grande attention à la lumière, aux atmosphères et à la profondeur psychologique des sujets.
Son style mêle douceur du trait, subtilité des couleurs et une forme d’élégance discrète. Elle peint des portraits, des scènes d’intérieur, des natures mortes et des paysages empreints d’une poésie intemporelle. L’influence des maîtres anciens se fait parfois sentir, mais toujours réinterprétée avec une modernité retenue et une approche très personnelle.
Guily Joffrin expose dans de nombreuses galeries et salons en France tout au long de sa carrière, notamment au Salon des Indépendants, au Salon d’Automne et au Salon de la Jeune Peinture. Elle reçoit plusieurs distinctions et bénéficie de l’attention d’un cercle de collectionneurs fidèles.
Décédée en 2007 à l’âge de 98 ans, elle laisse une œuvre discrète mais précieuse, qui témoigne de la permanence d’une certaine figuration française du XXe siècle, entre rêve, sensibilité et exigence plastique.
Biography
Guily Joffrin (1909–2007) was a French painter, primarily recognized for her delicate and poetic figurative work, part of the School of Paris movement.
Born in 1909, Guily Joffrin trained as a painter in a rich artistic context, marked by the avant-garde movements of the interwar period. She settled in Paris, where she frequented intellectual and cultural circles. She quickly found her calling in a sensitive figurative style, often imbued with lyricism and silence. Her works, sometimes intimate, sometimes opening onto dreamlike landscapes, reveal a keen attention to light, atmosphere, and the psychological depth of her subjects.
Her style combines soft lines, subtle colors, and a form of understated elegance. She painted portraits, interior scenes, still lifes, and landscapes imbued with a timeless poetry. The influence of the Old Masters is sometimes felt, but always reinterpreted with a restrained modernity and a highly personal approach.
Guily Joffrin exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions in France throughout her career, notably at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon d'Automne, and the Salon de la Jeune Peinture. She received several awards and enjoyed the attention of a loyal circle of collectors.
She passed away in 2007 at the age of 98, leaving behind a discreet but precious body of work that testifies to the permanence of a certain 20th-century French figuration, poised between dream, sensitivity, and artistic rigor.
