Biographie
Joan Gardy Artigas, né le 18 juin 1938 à Boulogne-Billancourt, est un céramiste et sculpteur catalan. Fils du céramiste Josep Llorens Artigas, ami de Joan Miró et de Pablo Picasso, il grandit dans un environnement artistique riche.
Formation et collaborations
Après des études à l'École du Louvre et aux Beaux-Arts de Paris, il collabore avec son père et Joan Miró. Ensemble, ils réalisent des œuvres majeures, notamment la céramique monumentale pour le siège de l'UNESCO à Paris
Œuvre et reconnaissance
Son travail se caractérise par une fusion de formes organiques et abstraites, reflétant l'influence de Miró et de son père. Ses créations ornent des lieux prestigieux tels que la Fondation Maeght à Saint-Paul-de-Vence, l'aéroport de Barcelone et le Kunsthaus de Zurich.
Engagement culturel
En 1989, il fonde la Fundació Josep Llorens Artigas à Gallifa, près de Barcelone, perpétuant l'héritage familial et offrant un espace de résidence pour artistes du monde entier.

Biography
Joan Gardy Artigas, born June 18, 1938, in Boulogne-Billancourt, is a Catalan ceramist and sculptor. The son of ceramist Josep Llorens Artigas, a friend of Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso, he grew up in a rich artistic environment.
Education and Collaborations: After studying at the École du Louvre and the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he collaborated with his father and Joan Miró. Together, they created major works, including the monumental ceramics for UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
Work and Recognition: His work is characterized by a fusion of organic and abstract forms, reflecting the influence of Miró and his father. His creations adorn prestigious venues such as the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Barcelona Airport, and the Kunsthaus Zurich. Cultural Commitment In 1989, he founded the Fundació Josep Llorens Artigas in Gallifa, near Barcelona, perpetuating the family legacy and providing a residency space for artists from around the world.
