Biographie
Roger Lersy (1920-2004) était un peintre, compositeur et décorateur français, dont l’œuvre s’inscrit dans le sillage de la Nouvelle École de Paris.
Né à Paris, il se forme à l'École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré, puis à l'École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. Dès les années 1950, il expose régulièrement en France et à l’étranger, se faisant remarquer pour une peinture lyrique et expressive.
Roger Lersy a également exercé comme décorateur pour le théâtre et le cinéma, et a composé plusieurs pièces musicales, traduisant une sensibilité artistique multiple et profondément humaniste. Sa peinture, souvent abstraite mais chargée d’émotion, se caractérise par un geste énergique, une matière dense et des jeux de lumière qui évoquent aussi bien l’intériorité que la vibration du monde.
Actif dans de nombreuses expositions collectives et salons parisiens (dont le Salon de Mai, le Salon des Réalités Nouvelles ou Comparaisons), il est aussi exposé à l’étranger, notamment aux États-Unis et en Allemagne. Il a laissé une œuvre riche, marquée par une grande liberté formelle, où la couleur et le mouvement dialoguent sans cesse.
Biography
Roger Lersy (1920-2004) was a French painter, composer, and decorator whose work is part of the New School of Paris.
Born in Paris, he trained at the Duperré School of Applied Arts and then at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. Since the 1950s, he has exhibited regularly in France and abroad, gaining recognition for his lyrical and expressive painting.
Roger Lersy also worked as a set designer for theater and film, and composed several musical pieces, reflecting a multifaceted and profoundly humanist artistic sensibility. His painting, often abstract but charged with emotion, is characterized by energetic gestures, dense materials, and plays of light that evoke both interiority and the vibration of the world.
Active in numerous group exhibitions and Parisian salons (including the Salon de Mai, the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles and Comparaisons), he has also exhibited abroad, notably in the United States and Germany. He left behind a rich body of work, marked by great formal freedom, where color and movement are in constant dialogue.
