Man Collot (1903–1962) est une artiste française au parcours discret mais singulier, dont l'œuvre s’inscrit dans la lignée d’un expressionnisme intime et lumineux. Née en 1903, elle grandit dans un contexte artistique foisonnant qui marque son regard et sa sensibilité. Très tôt attirée par le dessin et la peinture, elle se forme à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, où elle affine un style personnel, mêlant rigueur du trait et spontanéité du geste.

Peintre de la figure humaine, des paysages intérieurs et des instants suspendus, Man Collot privilégie les scènes de la vie quotidienne, qu’elle transfigure par une palette chaleureuse et des compositions structurées. Elle s’illustre également dans l’art du portrait, avec une attention particulière portée à l’expression, à la profondeur des regards, à la vérité des corps. Man Collot (1903–1962) was a French artist with a discreet but singular career, whose work is part of a style of intimate and luminous expressionism. Born in 1903, she grew up in a rich artistic environment that influenced her vision and sensibility. Drawn to drawing and painting at an early age, she trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she refined her personal style, blending rigorous line and spontaneity of gesture.

A painter of the human figure, interior landscapes, and suspended moments, Man Collot favored scenes of everyday life, which she transfigured with a warm palette and structured compositions. She also excelled in portraiture, paying particular attention to expression, the depth of gaze, and the truthfulness of bodies. The influence of the interwar period and the French avant-garde is perceptible in her way of constructing her forms and purifying her lines.

Her works, although rarely exhibited during her lifetime outside of restricted circles, demonstrate a sincere pursuit of pictorial emotion.
